What is the Childbloom Guitar Program?

The Childbloom Guitar Program is a system of teaching children music through the guitar. This system combines curriculum, method and structure. The technique taught is a high-skill, classical guitar technique. The music includes various styles and is adapted to the classical guitar technique.

The students in the Childbloom Program are taught in small classes with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 in each 1/2 hour class. Private lessons are included in the structure of the Childbloom Program. Other group combinations, such as ensembles, exercise and theory classes may be included within the structure of the Childbloom Program.

We don’t “happen” to teach children. We specialize in teaching children. The Childbloom Program was made for young people age 5 and up. You can feel confident that your children will be given the best opportunity to learn, grow and cultivate their talent.

The Highest Cost of Music Education

Begun in 1980, the Austin Childbloom Program is one of the longest running guitar programs for children in the world.  That is why we know that parents must be involved in their child’s musical growth. We want a parent to be present in the lesson with the child. You need to know the details of what the child is learning; the goals for the week, the technical aspects that the child can’t see from his or her viewpoint and help encourage practice in an effective way.  The quality of that involvement will change as the child matures but parental involvement has been a key ingredient to the success of the students in our program from age 5 -18. This is the the highest cost – YOUR time and attention. It will provide the greatest value to your child.

Due to parental involvement, Childbloom students have the longest retention rate of any guitar education program. That means they develop very high skill and appreciation for all kinds of music! If this is something you wish for your child, please contact us or come visit for a free lesson.
